CANOJAHARIE TOURNAMENT

The Canajoharie Cougars hosted a Tip-Off Tournament on the 29th and 30th of Thanksgiving break. The tournament included obviously the Cougars, the Fonda Braves, the St.  Johnsville Saints and the Galway Lady Eagles. Our Lady Eagles played first against Fonda. Representing the Eagles were Felicia Snyder, Courtney Sowle, Emily Zawisa, Morgan Ritter, Erica Chase, Shelby Suits, Erin Breckenridge, Raven Pink, and Lindsey Naughton. We started out strong ending the first quarter with 9 points and Fonda with 10 points. Throughout the game though the team work started to dwindle and many of the plays weren’t working. The game ended 76-22 with Fonda winning. During the game there were some great rebounds; Morgan, Emily, and Raven lead the team with 5 rebounds. Felicia, Shelby, Morgan, and Emily also had some great steals. Top scorers were Emily, Erica, Shelby, and Raven with 4 points.

The second game was played against St. Johnsville. We started the first quarter 16 points and the Saints with 7 points. We then continued to lead with 30 points at half time and the Saints only having 15. We continued to score highly ending the game 54-39. Morgan and Erin lead the team with rebounds and Raven lead the team with blocks. The top scorers were Erica with 13 points, Morgan with 10 points, and Felicia with 9 points. The Lady Eagles started out a little rough but pulled through with a 3rd place win! (The picture accompanying the article is from the tournament.) The season should be a good one so try to make it to all of the home games for support!
