Living with a Mets fan

Living with a Mets fan

Leanne Rydzewski, Jr. High Staff Writer

You may know sophomore Ryan Rydzewski. But did you know that he is a Mets fan? Or that he has a younger sister who has to put up with him being a Mets fan?

Ryan seems to know every little piece of Mets trivia. Whether it’s commercials from 25 years ago, or that they won the World Series in 1969 & 1986, he knows it all! Speaking of old Mets memorabilia, Ryan recently bought an old picture of the Mets old stadium, Shea Stadium.

Every morning Ryan comes downstairs & updates our family on how the Mets are doing. He knows all the stats.  During this World Series, he made a scoreboard on our whiteboard about the games they’ve won.

Ryan felt great about them making it to the World Series–it was unexpected. In response to the Royals winning the first two games, he said, “Disappointing. I still have hope the Mets will pull it out.”  He was excited to add the tally mark to the Mets’ side after game 4.

Living with a Mets fan can be hard for somebody like me who doesn’t care about baseball. It can get quite annoying hearing irrelevant trivia, but it does make for interesting times. Let’s hope the Mets win so I can see his reaction!scoreboard
