Senior Wills 2016

Senior+Wills+2016

Here are the Senior Wills from the Class of 2016…

I, Livia Bascom, leave all of the students I’ve worked with a spot in my heart forever. To Cindy and Jeanne from the English as a Second Language classroom, I’m so proud of how much you’ve improved your English and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to work with both of you. To the 8th grade Spanish class that I was an intern for, thank you for allowing me to realize how beautiful the bond between a teacher and a student is. All of you have become such amazing Spanish speakers, and I strongly encourage you all to continue on with Spanish because the benefits are endless. To all of the children I’ve worked with at the YMCA Afterschool Program, thank you for being the highlight of my day, every single day. You’ve all touched my heart at the tenderest spot and knowing that I won’t be returning next year is one of the most painful feelings. To Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Ostrander, Mrs. Peconie, and Mr. Danison, thank you for being such great influences and mentors to me; I hope every student is just as touched by you as I was. The lessons and experiences that I’ve taken from each of you are ones that will stay with me forever.

I, Jacob Ernst, leave to James and Leah I the saxophone section, and to Nate and Evin I leave GTV…please don’t break it.

I, Haley Grogan, leave Emily South the wrestling mats that I mopped for two years in hope that the amount of sweat won’t gross her out too much. I leave Erica Culbert way too many memories that I will never forget. I leave her the Galway Dance Team that I hope she will decide to be part of in her senior year. I leave Mrs. McDonald crazy and chaotic English classes along with enough gratitude to fill the school. I leave Mr. Levin all the support that you provided me with and the advice to lighten up a bit on the upcoming sophomores because your sarcasm comes off a bit harsh at first. Lastly, I leave the upcoming seniors one heck of a year with high hopes that you all will make the best of it.

I, Violette Canelli, give locker 284 to whoever is lucky enough to get it. The locker is located in the small hallway and sits perfectly on the corner. It’s perfect because the garbage can is right next to it. You can use the top of the can to hold your books while you struggle opening the locker. Warning, it makes a very loud, obnoxious squeaking noise every time you open it. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it by senior year, maybe.

I, Jose Diaz, leave my locker to the unlucky freshman who has to deal with it for the next four years. I leave all future drama people the traditions we have of waiting until the last minute to memorize our lines. I leave my brother Emmanuel… good luck.

I, Mariana Franco, leave Galway full of memories and the feeling that one day I might come back to see all the friends I made here.

I leave my second period study hall a lot of laughs, photos, videos and friends that I will never forget.

For my cheerleaders I leave my smile, which the girls liked the most.

To Paiton, I leave a slap and our talks before lunch.

To Casey Dunleavy, I leave our rides to the gym listening to U2 and sweating bullets there.

To Jadey, I leave all the patience that she had with me all year.

To Sara Ernst, I leave a good Portuguese app, some Brazilian songs, our talks at my locker after class and a lot of fun during our crazy nights. I’m waiting for you in Brazil, puta!

And for everybody that talked to me this year and make my experience unforgettable, my thanks to you and a tight hug for you all. I hope one day we can meet each other again…

I, Brittany Keller, leave Galway with a number of things, so bear with me. To the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team, be where you at. I leave you team a capella on the bus, McDonald’s, Homecoming, and Pasta Parties. Remember to always play with heart, and be there for each other. You’re a family. Thanks for nights under the lights and laughs to last a lifetime. Always continue to kick butt now and takes names later.

To my Man Voices–Brooke Martin and Erica Culbert– I leave Delores at the Maplewood Manor, Chamber of Secrets, Sister-Brother-Father-Mother-Sinner, The Longest Time, THE LAST FIVE YEARS and most importantly, #MV4L (Man Voices For Life). To the rest of my Chamber Singers, I leave the frocks and our sparkly Senior Jazz Choir outfits, Baccalaureate and Graduation rehearsals, failed              a capella, beautiful harmonies, Christmas caroling, and last but not least, WE HATE MAC HUFF. Thanks for making “This Is Gospel” a reality. Keep working hard.

To April Carlson, Schuyler Arnold, Evin Drake and Nate Urban, I leave you the GTV Studio and all the hassle and fun that comes with running it. Thanks for making “The Studio” with us. I know you guys will do great the rest of your time running the Studio.

To the remaining members of Galway High Drama, take care of Mrs. Valente. She has worked tirelessly to make GHD not good enough, but awesome, and she will always support you guys through it all if you give her the chance. Remember to have fun no matter what show you do, but work hard and for Pete’s sake, PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY AND LEARN YOUR LINES. To the stage crew, (Erik, Leah, Erica, April, Kim and Gracie), I thank you for helping and teaching and yelling, and I can really only leave you with Rita Laporta. To the cast, I leave you techweek, cast dinners, cast jam sessions, improv games, the totem pole dialogue from Annie Get Your Gun, my lovely hat from Into The Woods, my go-go boots from Lucky Stiff and the Gypsy Robe.

To Mrs. O, I leave 6th period talks, our only trip to Columbia together, yelling at Jacob together, chocolate, Salem, Winona Ryder, Jimmy Fallon, and lots of love.

To Miss Booth, I leave you that bad word in “Some Nights,” (can we say it now?), four years of Chamber Singers and Chorus, Panic! At the Disco titles (“Feet Don’t Belong On Flannels,” “They Belong In The Ashes Of The Night,” “You Look Like A Graceful Flamingo,” etc…) late night Chamber rehearsals where we walked through the halls singing a capella, bad puns with Riley, singing “Legally Blonde” too early in the week, literally all of Music Theory, “it’s fine, it’s fine, IT’S FINE,” a lot of lies, songs nobody knows but you, and most importantly, four years of fun and laughs. Thanks for being the best teacher I could have ever hoped to have, Mellenie Fo’shizzle Rondo Booth.

To our Music Theory class, I leave nicknames like Trudence, Jackifer James, Smithers Quincy, and Lil’ Rondocracy. I also leave 12 Tones, a folder full of quotes like “Babies is always stupid,” and “Sometimes I feel like my brain knows things I don’t,” juice boxes and granola bars, hiding people’s stuff when they’re not in the room, subdominant chords, giving our songs really weird titles, the Christmas party complete with rotisserie chicken/mashed potatoes/Perfect Octave cookies/terrible dubstep, the video Greg showed us (“Hi Dad, I’m in jail. Happy birthday Dad… FROM JAIL) rhythm basketball, and of course, rondos.

To Trudi VanOmmeren, I leave the shaker (shhh), the paper piano on your face, “You’re fine,” “I GOTTA GO,” auditions, Gregorian Chants, Rollo, the crying goat, and the wonderful nickname, Trudence.

To our Group, I leave Duck Duck Goose in Central Park, cheeseless pizza, a pizza promposal, truth or dare, holiday parties at Laura’s house, trick-or-treating, junior year field day and prom, the Sniff Riffs and bacon milkshakes.

To my band– Almost Maine, formerly known as The ‘98– (Jenni Rumsey, Evan Carlson, Marek Borik, and yes, even you Luke) I leave “Addiction” at Coffeehouse, band practice in Evan’s basement, breakfast sandwiches and blank bread, “Remember the Bridge!”, Battle of the Bands at Amsterdam, “Girls/Boys/Cats,” long hours of practicing for the talent show, and all the songs we wrote.

To Rachel Reichard, I leave #GodBless(America), trying to blow each other’s music off the stand, spit, and the alto saxohorn.

To Alecia Hennessy, I leave stupid little post it notes that could either be really sweet or really dumb, a song just for you, Subway, “Unsteady,” “Mr. Brightside,” and Twenty One Pilots, confessions about anything and everything, Starbucks, profanity to no ends, and of course, our spot. Don’t wish senior year away, enjoy it, but don’t forget how bright your future is. Have fun, kid.

To Renee Rossi, I leave being hooligans, photography, the entirety of Mr. Brooks’ class, and a friendship that I’m glad happened now instead of never.

To Haley Grogan, I leave you with the memory of Britty Bottle and Orange is the New Black. That’s all.

To Caroline Conti, thanks for always holding my bass case open. You’re beautiful.

To Sara LaRocca, I leave Skype sessions, Elvis on the ukulele, Olympic Figure Skating Gold Medal Champions, Planets (especially Uranus) #WiseWordsWednesday (“Snakes are not vegetables!”) three years of science, Cinderella, “Jose?”, a 92 on an Acids and Bases test, Cooks Vs. Cons and Crowded, movie nights, three years as badminton partners, and of course, Sven and Olaf.

To my favorite Freshman, Sarah Ernst, I leave you mattress surfing, that night at the beach, Dunkin Donuts, Finding Nemo, and a night at the drive ins. Enjoy the rest of high school. Work hard, have fun.

To the rest of you, I leave halls full of memories and laughs. Time flies, so don’t waste it. Good riddance.
