Grade 10’s Top Tens: Music

- Seether
I’ve liked this band for a long time, and they’re alright. One thing I’ve noticed is how similar they are to Foo Fighters (Seether is basically a downgraded version).
- Mika
Different from pretty much all my other music choices, this is a pop/glam rock singer who I like mainly for his voice.
- Queen
I mean, who doesn’t like Queen?
- Weezer
Ah, alternative. Weezer is a perfect example of the genre. I can’t say I like all of their songs, but a good majority.
- The Doors
Weird name, right? Anyways, I love Jim Morrison’s voice– I love old rock.
- Pink Floyd
I’ve always liked this old, yet very popular band. I like listening to full albums by them because each song leads into one another and tells a story.
- Foo Fighters
I will always argue that this band is far superior to its original form, Nirvana.
- Shinedown
I’ve listened to this band for a very, very long time. It’s my dad’s favorite and I grew up listening to it.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Though many of their songs can be repetitive, the music is phenomenal.
- Electric Light Orchestra
This band has it all–the voice, keyboard, violin, keyboard. Another reason why I love it as well is because my father and I both love it–it was his first favorite band. I tend to choose music to listen to mainly on how much I like the singer’s voice and less on the instrumental stuff, and Jeff Lynne’s voice is perfect. Lots of their songs have a space theme as well, which I really like.
