In the doghouse…

In+the+doghouse...

When it comes to dog sitting, most people believe that it is super easy and all you have to do is feed and play with the dogs. Well that is not true whatsoever. One of the dogs, Penny, that I watch after school is in a “cone” because she had an abscess on her anal gland. I have to feed her little parts of her meal hand by hand, make sure the other two, Sydney and Nissa, don’t go near her wound, walk her on a leash all around the yard, and make sure her “cone” doesn’t get caught or hit on everything. Dog sitting is fun, but when it comes to that-it comes with A LOT of responsibility. When I am taking Penny for a walk, it is hard for her to walk normally without hitting anything–she usually ends up smacking her face in a tree, or bench, or anything of that nature. It is a bit easier when she listens to me because she takes my advice and then doesn’t end up hitting her head or injuring herself anymore. It has been getting easier for her though–she walks up the stairs with her head up and hasn’t been hitting her “cone” on stuff.
