QUEENSBURY– Senior Kelly Phillips was recently recognized at an awards breakfast at the Queensbury Hotel.  The award and the event are sponsored by AngioDynamics and The Post-Star. Kelly earned this honor, along with 19 other local seniors, for her dedication to her community, her leadership skills and her innovation. Kelly attended the breakfast with her parents, her grandmother, Mrs. Gavrilik, GHS principal, Mr. Healey and Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, Mrs. Donovan.

Kelly has an impressive list of accomplishments over the years, that was featured in a special circular of The Post-Star newspaper. A family friend, Luci Bianchi, was quoted in the piece, “Throughout the years I have watched Kelly develop into an outstanding young lady. Her involvement in various organizations has developed her leadership skills, which she has found invaluable as has thrown herself into using her talents to help others.”

Kelly recognized her mother as her personal inspiration. She also shared that she looks up to her dad, “He inspired me to join the fire department because he was once the chief, as was his father and grandfather.” Congratulations Kelly!
