Junior Annastasia Watson shared the following speech, honoring Mrs. Levine, at the GTA Educator of the Year breakfast on May 15th.
Today we have the honor of recognizing the 2026 National Honor Society Educator of the Year. The National Honor Society Educator of the Year is an educator who embodies the qualities of, being highly effective in teaching, inspiring and motivating students, being active in the community, committing to student growth, and is respected by their colleagues, students and
parents. The National Honor Society selects teachers who exemplify all of these qualities in addition to the four NHS pillars. The pillars are scholarship, leadership, service and character. This year we have the honor of recognizing our outstanding agriculture teacher Mrs. Levine.
Mrs. Levine always goes above and beyond in ensuring that all of her students’ educational needs are met not just in the classroom but also through her involvement in FFA. Mrs. Levine makes it known to her students that she cares about them by ensuring that they know where to go if they need something, need advice or just need to talk about something. She inspires her students to be the best version of themselves both in and out of the classroom and to not let anyone bring them down. Mrs. Levine is committed to student growth by encouraging her students to lead their peers both inside and outside of the classroom and encouraging members of FFA to participate in career development events and leadership development events to grow themselves as students.
Mrs. Levine has an unmatched passion not just for teaching but also for the program and students she teaches. In the four years Mrs. Levine has been an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Galway she has completely revolutionized the programs offered through her department. Mrs. Levine completely changed how the FFA chapter was run and made it her own. Before Mrs.
Levine the Galway FFA chapter did not compete in competitions at all. In the 2025-2026 school year alone we had a total of 8 competitors in leadership development events competing in a total of 5 different leadership development events. This year at the State FFA Convention, which is where Mrs. Levine is now, there is a total of 19 students competing on 6 different careerdevelopment teams. This expansion of the program has developed each and every student into a better public speaker and better versions of themselves, allowing them to become better students.
Mrs. Levine doesn’t just do these amazing things for people in our school, she also goes out of her way to make sure that her classes and the FFA chapter give back to the community through their service to others. Mrs. Levine throughout her role as an educator and advisor impacts each and every student allowing each student who has the pleasure of learning from her to take a piece of her soul with them wherever they go in life. Thank you Mrs. Levine for the outstanding job you do.
