On Sunday, March 9th, in Saratoga Springs. McKenna Kanaby was honored as the 2025 Scholar Athlete Award Recipient for Galway.

 All seven conferences were represented for Section 2 girls basketball. There was a total of 67 scholar athletes awarded for their respective schools. The awards are sponsored by the Capital District Board of Women’s Basketball Officials.

 The purpose of the event is to recognize area high school student athletes and their achievements in the classroom, community, and on the basketball court.

 Guidelines for selection include: a senior female basketball player who demonstrates a high standard of academic achievement, has shown good citizenship and moral character, demonstrates sportsmanship and leadership skills, and has made a significant contribution to their basketball program.
