On May 14th 2026 was the Galway Wellness fair. That day taught us all about mental health awareness and all of the Galway clubs that could teach us about mental health awareness like SADD, 4H, Galway Fitness center and more.
The wellness fair was held in the high school gym and students could walk around doing fun activities like petting therapeutic horses, being in a simulated car crash or attempting CPR. Each time a student did one of these fun activities they got got a stamp on a sheet that they were given, and if you got most or all of the stamps you could turn it in for a prize like a rubber duck or cool sunglasses. There was also a big presentation in the auditorium with a guest speaker Amanda Ready that gave us even more knowledge on mental health awareness.
And after all of that was done the students went back to their homeroom and had a little fun. Mrs. Gload’s class went back and watched the movie “Rats Of NIMH” and Mr. Nettleton and/or Mr. Barr’s class went back to their homeroom and watched “Inside Out 2”. And after all of that the day came to an end… after the fire alarm went off. And this was not a drill, there was actually something going on in Galway Central School and we all had to stand outside in the cold for something like 20 minutes!
