The Galway FFA returned from 101st NYS FFA Convention this past Sunday, with several members making Chapter history.
Eva Anderson became the FIRST ever Proficiency Award winner, placing in the top 3 in the state for her SAE in Beef Production!
Kiersten Friday and Sophia Fiorillo were the Chapter’s first ever competitors in the Discussion Meet CDE. Both made it to the second of the 3 rounds!
Abby Conti, Andy Miller, Eva Anderson, and Lydia Randall participated in Farm Business Management where Abby was the 8th place individual in the contest!
The Vet Science team was made up of Aubrey Jones, Eleanor Douglas, Estelle Hall, and Mikaela Meilunas. Eleanor was the 9th place individual in the contest!
The Maple Production team consisted of Alex Bruce, Lexton Christopher, Lilly-Ann Jessop, and Nadia Labate. Aquaculture included Aubrey Jones, Josh Armitage, Logan MacIsaac, and Mikaela Meilunas.
Floriculture members were Alex Bruce, Jarek Leszczynski, Kailey Jones, and Remington Smith.
The Reporter’s Book, assembled by Kailey Jones, earned 3rd place and the Treasurer’s Book, assembled by Sophia Fiorillo, came in 2nd.
On Saturday, the Empire Degree Recipients were honored, including Galway’s Abby Conti, Eva Anderson, and Lydia Randall.
Thank you to Mr. Miller and Mr. Sullivan for chaperoning, and congratulations to all the members who made this trip a good time and a great success! Thank you most of all to Mrs. Levine for all her hard work planning the trip, and helping FFA members be successful!
