Mr Schaperjahn is Galway’s brand new assistant principal!
Although he did enjoy his old role as a 6th grade ELA teacher, he finds many perks in his new position. Besides the experience of working with staff and students k-12, he sees his mobility is an added benefit, and “no day has been the same so far.” While he does miss having his own classroom, he sees new perks in his new role. He enjoys being able to pop into classrooms and interact with a wider variety of students.
When asked what he would miss most about teaching he said, and I quote, “Mind maps! Just say mind maps. With an exclamation mark and bolded.”
While this article is brief, Mr. Schaperjahn’s stay here will not be! He plans to continue being the assistant principal for the foreseeable future. Throughout all this time here, he will continue to spread the message that “you should always try new things.”
