The Galway Varsity Competitive Cheer team was made up of  Rosie Matecko-Conti (Senior), Chiara Naldi (Senior), Daniele Gabri (Sophmore), Carmen Imbo (Sophomore),  Alexis Heuser (Sophomore),  Emma Mitchell (Sophomore), Ava Remscheid (Freshman), Hailey Reome (Freshman), and Eleanor Douglas (7th grader).  Saturday, January 22nd was the Cheer team’s first competition of the season. It was a very nerve wracking experience due to the fact it was the first competition for most of the team.  As a team, they were ecstatic after they did their entire routine perfectly with no deductions! We were awarded 3rd place out of 4 teams, which ,for a team of 9 cheerleaders vs. teams of 16-30 cheerleaders, is an amazing accomplishment. 

Our next competition is this weekend, February 6th. We are awarded points for  crowd participation, for instance the crowd cheering along or clapping along with our routine. There is typically an admission fee, so be prepared.  Please come cheer on your Galway Varsity Cheerleading team!!!
