4 Fun Activities To Try While At Home

During this time of social distancing, it can be easy to become bored and anxious. One of the best ways to ward off boredom and anxiety is  to stay busy with fun activities. These are some ideas to try:

  1. Learn a new skill- Trying something new can be a fun thing to do while home. With this time home I’ve tried many new things such as learning origami and how to edit videos. This has been both fun and rewarding as I learned how to use these skills to complete different tasks. Use this time home to learn how to do something you’ve been wanting to do, but haven’t had the time to learn how.
  2. Train your pet- If your family is anything like mine, training your pet has been argued over and then forgotten. Take this time to teach your pet some new tricks. Even just taking them for a walk will bring your pet a lot of joy. This will be a fun experience for both you and your pet.
  3. Host a Family talent show- This may sound silly but it can be a lot of fun. My family tried this last Sunday and it made for an afternoon full of laughs and smiles. You could even extend this to your friends and extended family by sending videos of your acts to each other or video chatting while performing. Even if your social distancing, you can still connect and laugh with your family and friends.
  4. Keep a journal- We are in a very unique and unprecedented time. Record your experience in a journal. This is a great way to express anything you may be feeling and work on processing your thoughts.
