SADD Members Volunteer at the Veterans 5K

Anna Wnuk, EMC Staff Writer

On Saturday, November 3rd, several SADD members woke up at the crack of dawn to volunteer at the Veterans 7th Annual 5k Revolutionary Run. The race took place at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville, with set up beginning at 7:30am. SADD members, as well as some parents who stayed to help, shared the duties of directing the cars parking in the lot, handing out the race shirts, giving the runners water after they crossed the finish line, and setting up the post-race snack table. Despite the crazy winds and cold rain, SADD members and parents braved the elements to support the Veterans and thank them for their service.

All proceeds from the run will assist Saratoga County Veterans or their families with training, education, health care, housing assistance, and essential services and for the benefit of groups, organizations, programs, and projects dedicated to the welfare and support of the Saratoga County Veterans. SADD would also like to thank Mrs. Amy Hughes from the Veterans Peer Connection for allowing us this opportunity to show our gratitude to the women and men who keep our country safe. We look forward to helping next year!
