Holiday Spirit

Holiday+Spirit

It’s that time of year again, when you’re driving down the road and see the dazzling Christmas lights, turning on the radio and belting out Frank Sinatra, smelling the evergreen aroma throughout the house. Whether you’re a holiday fanatic, a Scrooge, or just someone attempting to get in the Christmas spirit, stay tuned for some ways to get pumped for the holidays.

Option one: PUMP UP THE HOLIDAY JAMS! You can never go wrong dancing to some Jingle Bell rock or reciting the entire Frozen soundtrack. Also don’t feel bad switching the 11th and 12th days of Christmas, we all do it (11 pipers piping, 12 drummers drumming by the way).

Option two: GET A TREE! Go out with your family, all dressed in mittens and boots and hats, and pick your favorite tree. Then come back inside to defrost your hands and enjoy the pine emanating from your newly-picked evergreen. P.S. If you have an electric tree, get your family together and decorate while singing some Christmas carols.

Option three: BAKE SOME COOKIES! I mean, who doesn’t love cookies, then you could plop down on the couch and throw on a movie like The Santa Clause or Elf.

So now you’ve got the music, the scents, the food, the movies, the decorations… What else could there be?

Option four: BOARD GAMES! Wonderful way to get together with your family and enjoy the holiday season. Break out some Monopoly or Yahtzee and see how fun it can be spending time with your family.

If you’re not yet in the holiday spirit, I don’t know what to tell you, go to the mall and tell Santa you want some Christmas cheer. Have yourself a merry little Christmas, laugh with friends, love with family, and spread joy to anyone you see. After all, this is the most wonderful time of the year.

“Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”

-Washington Irving
