Sunday Short 4…kinda

Sunday+Short+4...kinda

The holiday season is here once again. This time next week children all around the world will wake from their slumbers and eagerly run to see what miracles had transpired overnight. They will run to their Christmas trees to find the dozens of presents mysteriously left for them. Their eyes will widen in wonder as they find all that they’ve ever wanted in these little boxes. It is truly a magical time of year. And it all happens because of one man: Good ‘ole Saint Nick. This week, I’d like to do something different with this column. There are many things surrounding the holiday season that we seem to accept without question. However, I have some burning questions about Christmas and the man we refer to as….Santa Claus. So without further ado, here are my Top 10 questions about Christmas.

  1. What does Santa do the other 364 days of the year?

I mean come on people don’t be selfish here, Santa’s life can’t be all Christmas all the time, can it? So what does he do when he’s not managing his little elves and delivering you presents?

  1. You know how, in all the Christmas movies, Santa is real but none of the parents believe in him?                                       Well if that’s the case, who do the parents think mysteriously delivers the presents they didn’t buy to their kids?

  1. So are elves their own species or just mutated humans who happen to live in the North Pole?

Elves seem to really be just like humans, only smaller. So are they just little people born in the North Pole or are they a separate species that is just remarkably similar to humans. Or are they abducted children who are being forced to work for their kidnapper? Is there a dark side to Santa that no one is seeing???

  1. Why do we bring trees inside?

Like when did this tradition start? And why?

5.There are millions of reindeer in the world so how does Santa know which ones can fly?

6.What’s the first house Santa flies to?

Santa has to visit 1.9 million children in one night, so where does he go first and does it change depending on the year?

  1. How did Mrs. Claus and Santa Claus meet? Do they have children?

I would love to hear their star-crossed love story and their children’s testimonies of what it was like to grow up with Santa as a father. Wait, are his elves their children?

  1. Hey Mr. D, can you please explain the physics of Santa’s sleigh to me?

I mean I don’t take physics so it could be perfectly possible but come on; a 300 pound man flying a sleigh powered by reindeer fast enough to fly around the world in one night and able to land on slanted roofs? How??

  1. Only about ¼ of the world is covered in snow during Christmas, so when Santa flies to the Southern Hemisphere, how does he land his sleigh?

Santa’s sleigh is meticulously built in order to land and takeoff in snowy environments. So

what does he do when there’s no snow on the ground?

  1. And last but not least, my most burning question….Is Santa real???

Oh, who am I kidding, of course he is!

Merry Christmas all! 🙂
