Galways Varsity Volleyball 2013- All Out, All Game, All Season

October 21st the Galway Varsity girls honored their Senior and two exchange students at their last game of the season.   Senior Adrianna Watrobski and exchange students Lide Larranaga and Anna Reschka were announced with their families in the center of the court prior to the start of the game.

Anna Reschka had never played volleyball back home in Germany so for her this season was a learning experience.  “I am so proud to be part of such a successful team.” She says. Lide Larranaga has been playing volleyball for two years. She is excited to go back to Spain and show her team back home all the skills she has learned over the course of this season. Senior and Captain Adrianna Watrobski has been playing volleyball for 6 years. She will miss her team who has become more like family and made her love the sport that much more. “I couldn’t have asked for a better senior season with a better team.” She said.

The Galway Varsity girls’ volleyball team won their last home game Monday against Waterford Halfmoon with scores of 25-13, 25-21, 25-22. This win ended the season with an overall record of 16-0; 14-0 league, 2-0 non-league.  Not only are the girls undefeated but they also took home 1st place in the WAC Varsity Volleyball tournament for the 2nd year in a row last Saturday. Come cheer on the girls and wish them luck as they advance to sectionals! Their first sectional game tomorrow, Friday October 25th!
