Meet Mr. Shine

Meet+Mr.+Shine

I interviewed Mr. Shine who was recently appointed our new Galway Central School Superintendent. I asked Mr. Shine a few questions in order to get to know him better. From what I have seen, I think once everyone gets to know Mr. Shine they will really like him. He is very funny and nice.  It is my opinion that Galway is lucky to have a Superintendent like him.

Here are the questions from the interview:

What school did you come from?

Ichabod Crane Central Schools

Is there a big difference between the schools, if so what?

No, there is not a big difference, the schools are very similar except number of students. Ichabod has about 2,000 where Galway has about 1,000.  The students act the same, and the size of the property is about the same.

Why did you decide to become a superintendent?

He was qualified and was thinking about it and then the opportunity arose to become Superintendent at Galway and he knew that would be the best choice for him and his family.

Do you plan on changing anything about our school? If so what?

Yes, he already changed the flag on the outside. He also wants the outside to be more maintained in order to increase the school pride and increase student achievement.

What are your favorite things about Galway?

The students and teachers are very real, “honest”, “down to earth” and the fact that there are opportunities for the students to be involved in Galway.

What are your thoughts about the school store?

He really enjoys the popcorn on Friday!

What would you like to see sold at the school store?

Promotional items promoting Galway, and athletic clothing
