A fitting tribute

A fitting tribute

On Saturday night just after 7 o’clock, a blue beam of light was cast over Galway Lake in memory of a student who was often spotted  with a radiant smile and beaming with school pride.  Cody Izzo, senior Andrew Izzo’s younger brother, and 2012 Galway graduate Dylan Topper hosted the event to allow the Galway community to gather together and provide support to one another and begin the healing process after learning of Andrew’s passing on Thursday afternoon.

Approximately 250 people attended the event.  To check out additional photos, please visit the event page on Facebook.

Many students and staff members wore our school colors today to recognize Andrew’s athletic contributions, honor the family’s loss and display unity in this difficult time.

Calling hours are tonight from 4-8 pm. at Armer Funeral Home in Ballston Spa and a funeral service will occur on Tuesday, February 12th at 10 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church.

I am very proud to be a member of this community. These children are the reason I do my job I love being there for all of them. I have my own three children and many others that call me mom I am the most fortunate person, to be able to watch these kids grow up and become amazing adults. Thank you all for letting me part of your lives.
