1 of 1,000: Ashley Grey

Ashley is often dressed in black clothes and jewelry.  Her hair isn’t short or long, but a medium length, and black. Shes often smiling, not afraid to start a conversation. But, there’s more than meets the eye.

Ashley describes her life thus far as normal. She was pretty happy during her elementary days but she was more outdoorsy than she is now, and back then she had a better relationship with her brother. She doesn’t complain though. “I understand he wants his space,” she says.

Video games have always been a big part of her life and her family’s. Her brother, her father, and she all own their own game consoles. Her father also has a very good knowledge of computers, and she says he’s very chill. Her mother is nice, and always thoughtful.  “Ashley’s a lot more social than I am,” her brother Ethan says.

At the moment, she works at the Galway Market. “It’s like one big family,” she says. She’s a cashier, but also fills the bags, the coffee machine, and the slushy machine.  She has friends there: Brendan, Jayson, Tiffany, and Jesse.

During the summer, her mom drove her to work, but when school started up she found a more convenient way to get there. “If I’m working that day,” she started, “Usually I’ll just walk down to the market.”

As for her driving status, “I got my permit in April,” she said happily.

She’s not all about video games and work though.  Ashley also loves music. She says she’ll listen to anything (besides country) but her favorite band is Alesana. She went to a concert this summer, Attack Attack. She describes the band as an Electronic/Alternative group. “It was my first time moshing, and it was so much fun!” Ashley said proudly.

Some other hobbies she has are reading and writing, which explains what she wants to do with her career.  “I want to be a published author,” she says. She doesn’t know a lot about colleges yet, but she says she wants to do two years of FM, and try to go to a bigger college.

While she’s very sweet, don’t interrupt her. “It’s my biggest pet peeve of all time,” she says.
