SARATOGA SPRINGS–You are probably asking yourself the same question I did, what is a lip dub? Well for starters, a lip dub is a music video of people lip synching and then it is dubbed over with the actual song by the artist. Now you may ask yourself, why is a lip dub such a worthy topic? Well, we had one filmed in our own county of Saratoga! The Saratoga Lip Dub took place on September 1. The video was filmed up and down downtown Broadway, and in Congress Park in Saratoga. The main idea of the video was to show everything about Saratoga and what it has to offer.  Why did they choose Saratoga? The music they chose was a collection of Train songs, and since the drummer from Train is from Saratoga, they decided to hold the lip dub in his hometown.

The really cool part of the lip dub was that anyone who wanted to be included could go.  People just had to show up! My friend and I were in the video with our horses. Now we didn’t just show up to Congress Park with a trailer full of horses and say “Hey can we ride in the video?” We were asked by a friend of ours who was part of the directing team, Jennifer Conti. She is also a horse person and she was asked to find horse people to ride in the video since Saratoga is known for “Health History and Horses.” She went back to her roots of Saratoga 4-H and asked a few of us if we were interested. We jumped at the idea.  How many people can say they rode their horse in Congress Park? And how many people can say “Yeah my horse and I were in a music video!”

It was a blast to be part of such a great experience with our horses. It was an amazing event to share with the hundreds of people who showed up to take part. There were all different types of people from the Saratoga track team, the Saratoga cheerleading squad, the Saratoga Ballet, to some doctors from the Saratoga Hospital.
