The Red Pyramid Review

The Red Pyramid

By: Dylan Loux

“The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid” written by Rick Riordan. Riordan was the author of “The Percy Jackson series”. The book is a fantasy adventure novel based on the Egyptian mythology.  This book was published by Hyperion Books on May 4, 2010. This book was awarded Best book of 2010 by School Library Journal. It was also shortlisted for 2011 by Red House Children’s Book Award.

I read this last year after finishing “The Lost Olympian” another of Riordan books. The cover looked good and I already liked the “Percy Jackson series”. Unfortunately our library does not contain “The Red Pyramid” but it contains many others of Riordan’s books.

The main characters are fourteen-year-old Carter Kane and his twelve-year-old sister Sadie Kane. When they were young there mother Ruby Kane died a mysterious death, because of this event Carter and Sadie have lived separately almost all there life.  Carter traveling the world living with his father Julius Kane and Sadie at her grandparents’ home in London. On Christmas Eve, Carter and his Father go to visit Sadie, unfortunately, the Kane kids’ lives are about to change when Julius blows up the British Museum.

My opinion on this book was that I couldn’t wait to read the next book called “The Throne of Fire”.  This book is interesting because of the twist and suspense. I rate this book 5 out of 5. I hope this review will inspire you reads to read it.
