The Lightning Thief is the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The main character Perseus (Percy)Jackson is a twelve-year-old demigod (which is someone that is half human and half god) who is thrown into a quest he didn’t want. The quest is to retrieve Zeus’ stolen master bolt. He travels with his 2 friends Annabeth Chase (who is another demigod and a daughter of Athena) and Grover Underwood who is a satyr. They run into several monsters, like Cerberus, Medusa, a chimera, the Minotaur, and others.
