Alternative Rock is a large genre of music that consists of many bands and artists. In particular, I’m a fan of the band Cage the Elephant.  The band consists of 5 members: lead vocalist Matthew Shultz, lead guitarist Lincoln Parish, rhythm guitarist Brad Shultz, bass guitarist and background vocalist Daniel Tichenor and percussionist Jared Champion.

My favorite songs they have released are “Ain’t no Rest for the Wicked,” “Shake Me Down,” and “Around My Head.”  The band started in 2006.  They released two albums, one self-titled and the other Thank You, Happy Birthday.

My brother introduced me to them.  He first heard their music in the game Boarderlands.

I enjoy the unique sound of this band.  I like how Matthew Shultz’s voice is different from other bands I have heard.  I like how some of those songs, such as “The Japanese Buffalo” and “Saber tooth Tiger,” are narratives, telling interesting stories and having a neat sound.

I would definitely recommend you give the band a listen.
