
Saturday night was a day of fun and success. Girls soccer kicked off at 5. After a scoreless first half, Olivia Davidson-Gauss assisted Brielle Cameron to put Galway on the board.
With minutes left in the game and Galway up 1-0, Mayfield came from behind with a goal to tie the game and send it into overtime. Galway looked to be facing defeat but with mere seconds left on the clock, Norah Schaperjahn made her move by passing the ball to Brielle who once again took her chance and made a final shot. Norah came crashing in for the buzzer beating finish. Galway came out on top with 2-1 victory over Mayfield.
As the sun settled and the crowd came down from the high of a nerve racking win, the boys got their turn under the lights. The game was close, the boys were up 1-0 at the end of half. But then they got more aggressive and took a giant lead 8-0 in the second which ended up being the final score. Gabe Aldrich helped the team out with a hat trick. Jameson Wagner had to outdo Gabe with 4 goals himself. The final was a self-goal by Hadley’s own goalie. Jameson Wagner finished the game with 2 assists and Hayden Flint, Liam Hickey, Rosco Fingar Jr. each had 1.
