As the school year begins so does fall sports. That means we are going to have to say goodbye to some senior athletes. I was able to chat with Kiersten Friday about her high school career on the Varsity Soccer team as well as her plans for the future.
Kiersten plans to attend college with a chemistry major, as well as going into pre-med. After getting her undergraduate degree she hopes to go to med school to become a trauma surgeon. Kiersten also hopes that while attending college she will be able to find a soccer club so she can continue playing.
Kiersten has been playing soccer for Galway since 8th grade. She is still hoping to complete her first goal this year. Kiersten has always played a big role on the team. Soccer helped her learn a lot. She has learned how to trap the ball. She has also learned how to “pick her head up and make good passes.”
When I asked her if she felt accomplished going into her final season at Galway. She responded that she was accomplished with learning her new skills. Regarding her teammates Kiersten told me, “I’m so sad to say goodbye but I’m excited for new adventures.”
Her message to her coaches during her time at Galway is, “Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into our team throughout the years.” Her message to her teammates: “We will always carry these memories forever so make the last year full of them.”
