Review+of+Hamilton

“I am not throwin’ away my shot. Hey yo, I’m just like my country I’m young, scrappy and hungry and I’m not throwin’ away my shot.” If you know this song then you have probably seen the movie Hamilton. If you liked that, then you would love the Broadway play or have enjoyed the opportunity to go to to Proctor’s in Schenectady March 14th-March 26th to see the production.

The main character is Hamilton. The conflict is that he is an orphan who wants to do a lot for his country. He works to pack his life with accomplishments.

My top 4 favorite moments during the Proctor’s show:

Number 1 is the song “Satisfied.” This is my favorite because Angelica is my favorite character and I love the beat of the song.

Number 2 is the song “You’ll be back.” This is the funniest part of the musical. My favorite line of that song is, “I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!”

Number 3 is “Helpless.” I love the sisterness in this song and the suspense. I have watched this a million times and it still gets me every time.

Number 4 is “I am fond of Your obedient servant.” Even though they are fighting, it makes it comical.

I have seen the musical Hamilton many times on a tv screen and I loved it, but when I saw it live at Proctor’s I was amazed. It was a completely different experience. It made me laugh, the music was spectacular, and it taught about a very important part of our history, the Revolutionary War. The actors and actresses conveyed the emotions of the difficult time of the war. Especially during the sad parts of the show like when a certain person died violently. You can really feel the pain the character was experiencing. The overall show was just so wonderful. I would recommend this amazing musical to anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of our country and to people who like rap music.

I thought Hamilton was spectacular. The vocals were amazing and the cast was very talented. I think all the characters were well casted. I loved singing along to all the songs. The backdrop was very cool and it was very interesting to see the way the stairs moved in that one scene. Hamilton was a solid 10/10 and I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.      Sincerely your favorite reviewer,
