The concert of the summer

The concert of the summer

On June 14th,  four rappers, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Flacka Flame and J. Cole accompanied a living legend to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), the famous Drake.

As you walked in, you began to realize the magnitude of this concert. Hundreds of people were there hours before the concert had even started. Once it hit 7 o’clock the music began. 2 Chainz was the first one on the stage. The attention of the crowd was momentarily drawn to him. Most listened to him quietly while others talked amongst themselves. Then Waka Flaka jumped on the stage. People started to cheer, but he did not have command of the whole crowd. J. Cole was the next one on the stage and it was then that the crowd started to pay attention. People started to get crazy as they sang along to his hits such as, “Work Out” and “Can’t Get Enough”.

After a half hour, everything went completely dark and eerily silent. It was possible to see all the stars in the sky. Then, the screen and stage flashed with light. The act everyone had waited to see was finally here, Drake. Everybody screamed like they were on a roller coaster. Drake stood there, microphone in hand, as the intro began. His lyrics tore through SPAC with intense, raw power. He had everybody in the palm of his hand and he was just getting started.

At one point in the show, Drake lifted up his shirt for a second and all the girls went absolutely insane. There were even some who began to cry. For the last half hour of the show, Drake reached out to the crowd, talking to certain members. Then, the show had the crowd favorite, “The Motto”, and ended. It was a truly memorable experience.
