Wrath of the Titans Review

Wrath of the Titans Review

The movie stars, Sam Worthington as Perseus, the demigod son of Zeus, Rosamund Pike as Andromeda, the princess who Perseus saved before, and now who, as a queen, follows Perseus into battle, Bill Nighy as Hephaestus, the Gods Blacksmith whose twisted lame finger belies his Olympian origins. He was stripped of much of his godly power after siding with Hades when he betrayed the Olympians ten years prior. Edgar Ramirez as Ares, the traitorous god of war, Toby Kebbell as Agenor, imprisoned thief and son of Poseidon who joins Perseus on his journey to Tartarus, Danny Huston as Poseidon, the god of the sea, Ralph Fiennes as Hades, god of the underworld, Liam Neeson as Zeus, the king of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus, John Bell as Helius, Lily James as Korrina, Freddy Drabble as Apollo, Kathryn Carpenter as Athena, Martin Bayfield as Cyclops,  and Spencer Wilding as the Minataur.

Wrath of the Titans has received generally unfavorable reviews from film critics. Metacritic gave the film an average score of 37/100 based on reviews from 32 critics, Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 25% approval rating with an average rating of 4.4/10, based on 153 reviews and offers the statement “Its 3D effects are an improvement over its predecessor’s, but in nearly every other respect, Wrath of the Titans fails to improve upon the stilted acting, wooden dialogue and chaos-driven plot of the franchise’s first installment”. Reviews of other critics came in as average scores of 4 – 5 out of 10.

To decide if it’s worth buying, renting or not even worth looking at, you have to look at the reviews of different critic groups such as Metacritic because it’s a wide variety. There is also personal opinion on the genre of the movie. In my opinion, this movie is a 5/10 because the story line is very stagnant and the dialog is horrid. The special effects are fantastic and the idea can be used for more movies. The critics gave it low scores every time and my personal score is a 5/10 so it’s definitely not worth buying but I would recommend renting it because it can offer some entertainment.
