Recording artist Childish Gambino

There’s a lot of great new music out there. Read here about Childish Gambino, Chvrches, and Parade of Lights. Childish Gambino Review Childish Gambino is an acclaimed rapper-writer-actor. His real name is Donald Glover. The artist got his name after using Wu Tang Clan Rap Name Creator. The CD, “Because the Internet,” is his sophomore release. “Because the Internet” is also the name of a 75 page film screenplay inspired by the album. This can be found at becausetheinter.net. This CD is a follow- up CD to his debut album “Camp.” The CD was released on December 10th, 2013. The album has 19 songs in total on it and has collaboration with Chance the Rapper and Azealia Banks. The songs range in length from about five seconds to about six minutes. The music is equal parts clever and deep. His songs cover a range of topics over his fresh and self-produced beats. He is going on the road on a tour called the Deep Web. When I first opened the CD I was confused. It was like opening a puzzle. The case opens up into four flaps that make a square and even then I couldn’t find the CD. All the flaps had a design on them that made it blend in. The cover and the back of the case are a hologram. I like this CD, it’s good and has a nice beat with each song. I also like how each song has a lesson or theme and the songs tell his life without you really knowing it. They talk about his struggles without being overbearing about it. Listen to the album, then come back and comment at the bottom to tell us what you thought of it. Chvrches Review The name of the CD is “The Bones of What You Believe.” This CD is the debut album for the band Chvrches. The band is a fast rising group from Scotland. They are an electric band made up of three people. The singer, Lauren Mayberry, keyboardist and vocalist Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty. The CD was released in the US in September and reached the top 10 chart on iTunes. The song “The Mother We Share” was the first single released by the band. The album has a total of twelve songs altogether. They range from about three to six minutes long. The name of the band is Churches, but the changed the “u” in the name to a “v” to differentiate themselves on internet searches. The band hit the road on tour this spring. You can go to their site chvrch.es to see the tour dates. When I put the CD in to my computer and the first songs started to play, I knew within the first five seconds that I was going to love this band. I love electric music and anyone else that does will probably like them too. They have a great beat and interesting lyrics. I like all the songs but I especially like their song “The Mother We Share.” I really like the way it starts out. The song is a good introduction to the rest of the album. I also really like the symbol for the band on the cover of the album. Go out and buy it to support the band or just listen to it online, but when you’re done listening don’t forget to come back and leave a comment at the bottom to tell us what you thought of the band. Parade of Lights Review The song “We’re the Kids” by Parade of Lights is the band’s first single. “Golden,” the band’s first EP was released March 25 by the company Astralwerks. The EP will have a total of four songs on it. This group is based in Los Angeles. The band is made up of Ryan Daly who does guitar and lead vocals, Anthony Improgo for drums, Randy Schulte for bass and backing vocals, and Michelle Ashley for keys and backing vocals as well. The band refers to their sound as “dirty alt-electro meets shoegaze rock.” The band’s goal for their music is “to make music that resonates in the immediate, but that will also stand the test of time.” The song “We’re the Kids” is supposed to be a buoyant, surging synth-pop number that fully embraces the Parade of Lights aesthetic. I loved this song the second I heard it. I loved how it started and come out strong and upbeat. I love the electro in it. The video for the song was constructed well also. I look forward to hearing more from this band in the near future. Listen to the song yourself then come back and leave us a comment at the bottom about what you thought.
