Lady Eagles continue to impress

Our Lady Eagles started the tournament off well beating the Schoharie Indians 38-32. Representing the Lady Eagles were Felicia Snyder, Courtney Sowle, Emily Zawisa, Morgan Ritter, Erica Chase, Shelby Suits, Erin Breckenridge, Raven Pink, and Lindsey Naughton. Unfortunately though Pink is out with an injury and won’t be able to play until the next game. Top scorers were Ritter with 13 points, Snyder with 9 points and Chase with 8 points.

The Mayfield Panthers beat the Gloversville Lady Dragons 42-25 bringing them into the championship game.

With both the Panthers and the Lady Eagles being in the championship game, a thing both teams haven’t been able to do for many years, the game was tense and a fight to the finish. Galway was down by 1 with less than a minute to go in the last quarter. Thankfully Chase was fouled and made her 2 foul shots, having Galway win only 50-49. Galway got first place and they all deserved it playing with their hearts. Top scorers were Chase with 25 points and Snyder with 11 points.

Spa Catholic Away Game

The regular season for our Lady Eagles is now almost half away over. They played the Spa Catholic Saints for the second time and won yet again. Playing was Felicia Snyder, Courtney Sowle, Emily Zawisa, Morgan Ritter, Erica Chase, Shelby Suits, Raven Pink, and Lindsey Naughton. Finally Pink was able to return but Erin Breckenridge was not able to play unfortunately. Our ladies were able to keep the score ahead not once losing the lead and ended the game with the score of 50-46. Top scorers were Ritter with 14 points and Pink with 13 points. Their regular season record is now 4-2.

In the Sunday, January 12 edition of The Saratogian, the Lady Eagles were recognized as the “Biggest Surprise” in local girls’ basketball. They credit “three-point specialist Erica Chase,” and also Felicia Snyder, Morgan Ritter and Raven Pink for giving “the Eagles the balance on offense to beat any team in the league.”

Keep up the good work Ladies! And thank you to Mrs. Ceroalo for the photos!
